Specialises in
I am a Consultant Upper GI Surgeon with extensive experience in treating a wide range of conditions affecting the digestive system, including both benign and cancer-related disorders.
I regularly carry out keyhole (laparoscopic) surgery, including gallbladder removal, performing a high volume of procedures each year with excellent outcomes. Using minimally invasive techniques allows for a quicker recovery and helps patients return to their normal routines as soon as possible.
I studied medicine at the University of Liverpool and have remained in the region ever since, building my career and caring for patients across Merseyside. Over the years, I have developed a broad and balanced practice, supporting patients through diagnosis, treatment and recovery with clear advice and reassurance throughout.
I understand that surgery can feel daunting, so I aim to provide straightforward explanations and ensure patients feel comfortable and well-informed at every stage of their care.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, which includes my three sons, who keep me busy and active.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Nathan Howes at Spire include:
