Shoulder arthroscopy: What to expect and recovery
Mr Nasir Shah, Consultant Orthopaedic and Upper Limb Surgeon, says a shoulder arthroscopy is a procedure used to inspect, diagnose and to repair the shoulder joint. An arthroscopy is recommended when non operative treatment like physiotherapy and injections do not work.
The procedure is carried out under general anaesthesia and patients can expect to wear a shoulder sling depending on the severity of the surgery.
