I am a leading Senior Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with over 20 years consultant experience specialising in sports knee injuries, joint preservation and robotic hip and knee surgery in Worcestershire and the Cotswolds. My practice covers the full spectrum of knee and hip conditions, from ligament and meniscal injuries, early osteoarthritis in young adults, through to advanced minimally invasive and robotic-assisted joint replacements. I provide the whole spectrum of expertise from sports injury and joint preservation through to replacement.

I preserve joints whenever possible, but when replacement becomes necessary, I offer one of the most advanced reconstructive practices in the UK, with national leadership in robotic and minimally invasive joint replacement outcomes. I have also performed more than 6,000 traditional hip and knee replacements, performing 450-500 a year as per NJR surgeon profile data nationally.

I am recognised as one of the UK’s leading MAKO robotic hip and knee surgeons and was the highest-volume private MAKO robotic-arm assisted joint replacement surgeon in the United Kingdom in 2025. I pioneered MAKO robotic surgery and minimally invasive muscle-sparing hip (direct superior approach, SPAIRE approach) and knee replacement techniques at Spire South Bank Hospital in Worcester with amongst the best outcomes in the country.

I am dual certified and hold membership with the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine, reflecting specialist expertise in sports injury management, performance-related orthopaedic conditions and joint preservation surgery. I have a particular interest in helping active patients and athletes safely return to sport while delaying or preventing progression of arthritis wherever possible.

My specialist practice includes ACL reconstruction using all graft options, knee ligament surgery, knee arthroscopy and keyhole surgery, meniscal preservation and repair surgery, cartilage restoration procedures, patellar stabilisation surgery, high tibial osteotomy, ultrasound-guided injections including hyaluronic acid, PRP and Arthrosamid, minimally invasive muscle-sparing hip replacement and MAKO robotic-assisted hip, knee and partial knee replacement surgery.

I trained for over 12 years at the world-renowned Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford and completed advanced fellowship training in sports knee surgery, reconstructive surgery and joint replacement under Mr Chris Dodds, Professor David Murray and the Oxford Knee Group. I specialise in modern ACL reconstruction, meniscal preservation, joint preservation and replacement techniques using an individualised approach tailored to each patient’s anatomy, sporting demands and functional goals, working closely with specialist ACL rehabilitation physiotherapists to optimise recovery and return to sport.

I subsequently completed international fellowship training at the University of Toronto, including specialist training in joint preservation surgery, osteotomy, sports knee injuries and complex hip and knee reconstruction at the Osteoarthritis Institute and St Michael’s Hospital, Toronto with commendation.

My approach combines advanced technology, minimally invasive techniques and personalised patient care to preserve joint function, meniscal function, restore mobility and optimise recovery for patients with sports injuries, arthritis and complex reconstructive conditions.

I have a YouTube channel where I provide information and detailed explanations of my practice including how Robotic surgery works and the benefits of opting for this type of surgery. My YouTube channel can be accessed at the following link:
