Professional profile

I graduated from King Edward Medical College Lahore Pakistan in 1984 and received my basic surgical training in Mayo Hospital Lahore, Pakistan. I achieved my Fellowship of College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (FCPS) in 1991. After obtaining my FRCSI 1991 and FRCS (Eng) 1992, I joined South West Thames Higher Surgical Training Scheme. During this training, I completed my MSc in Surgical Sciences in 1996 from University of London, Diploma in Medical Education in 1997 from Cardiff and Intercollegiate FRCS in 1998. I achieved my certificate of completion of surgical training (CCST) in 1999.

My special interests are colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, faecal incontinence and pelvic floor disorders, anorectal diseases, hernia surgery, gall bladder disease. I am an experienced laparoscopic surgeon. I am experienced in diagnostic and therapeutic Endoscopy including OGD and colonoscopy.

I am involved in teaching and training of junior doctors, medical students and nurses. I am a tutor for endoscopy course Royal College of Surgeons England, Assessor for Royal College of Surgeons England, Director of Clinical Audit and Clinical Lead for Endoscopy in Epsom and St Helier NHS Trust.
