I am consultant orthopaedic surgeon offering hip surgery, knee surgery and general orthopaedic surgery. I have extensive experience in total joint replacement and reconstruction, and specialise in complex hip and knee replacement, bone preservation and revision procedures.

I have been a consultant orthopaedic surgeon since 2000 and my private practice encompasses various aspects of hip and knee surgery. My training and specialist interests are in hip and knee disorders including routine and complex hip and knee replacement and revision surgery, hip and knee surgery for young adults, unicompartmental knee replacement and arthroscopic knee surgery.

I have performed more than 4,000 joint replacements using various types of implants and bearing surfaces. On average, I perform 500 operations a year, including approximately 300 - 350 hip and knee joint replacements.

As well as treating degenerative disorders, I offer treatment for knee injuries including meniscal repair, anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction and patellofemoral instability/mal-tracking. I also perform general foot and ankle operations, dealing with corrective bunion surgery, Morton's neuroma, mid foot and hind foot arthritis, painful heel and post-traumatic pain and deformities.

I take great care to ensure that the referring GP or therapist is kept abreast of the status of each patient from diagnosis through treatment and recovery.

I received my higher surgical training in four different regions of the UK, working with world renowned surgeons at various university teaching hospitals: The Royal Infirmary and Princess Margaret Rose University Teaching Hospitals in Edinburgh, Newcastle General and Freeman University Teaching Hospitals in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, The Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospital in Liverpool, The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham.
