Mr Michael Swinn is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at Spire Gatwick Park Hospital. He qualified from the Middlesex Hospital in 1991. After gaining his surgical fellowship he researched pelvic floor dysfunction at the National Hospital for Neurology, Queen Square in London. This research led him onto two higher degrees - an MSc and MD. He also has a BSc in The History of Medicine. His urological training was based mainly in London but he spent 2002 expanding his surgical experience in Brisbane, Australia, specialising in pelvic surgery, especially radical prostatectomy. He returned to London for a year's fellowship in reconstructive urology at the Institute of Urology.
Mr Swinn is Lead Clinician at The Surrey and Sussex Healthcare Trust, Clinical Governance Lead and Cancer service improvement lead at The Surrey, West Sussex and Hampshire ( SWISH ) cancer network. He is one of the network approved pelvic cancer surgeons (bladder and prostate cancer). Mr Swinn has published many papers and book chapters. He has also presented many times at national and international meetings. His practice at Gatwick Park Hospital includes pelvic cancer surgery, female urology, urodynamics and reconstructive surgery. At the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane he was trained in microsurgical vasectomy reversal and this is a specific interest of his.
