I have been working as a Consultant Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeon at the NNUH since 2000 with my main area being Upper GI cancer and laparoscopic surgery.
I specialise in Upper GI cancer surgery (oesophageal and gastric cancer) and laparoscopic surgery (cholecystectomy, hernia repair, splenectomy and anit-reflux surgery).
To date I have performed over 2500 laparoscopic cholecystectomies, 2000 hernia repairs and over 300 UGI cancer resections over a 16 year period in both NHS and private practice.
I am research lead for the department of Surgery at the NNUH. I was Clinical Director for Surgery at the NNUH from 2007 to 2011 and Governance Lead from 2000 to 2007.
I am an honorary Senior Lecturer at Norwich Medical School (UEA) and honorary Professor at St Georges Medical School, Granada.
I have done several research and randomised trials on both my cancer work and laparoscopic work which have been published and presented over the years and can be accessed on Pubmed.
