I have been a Consultant Colorectal and General Surgeon in Cardiff for the last 20 years, following training in South Wales, Oxford and the Mayo Clinic, USA. I currently manage patients at Spire Cardiff Hospital, University Hospital of Wales and Llandough Hospital.
I am an experienced hernia specialist undertaking assessment and surgery for all common types of hernia (inguinal, umbilical & femoral).
Anal conditions are common and I have experience in treating patients with piles (haemorrhoids), anal fissure, anal fistula, anal skin tags and pilonidal sinus. I also undertake procedures to remove skin lumps and bumps.
I undertake investigation and treatment of patients with abdominal pain and bowel symptoms (rectal bleeding, diarrhoea & constipation). I regularly undertake diagnostic and therapeutic colonoscopy investigations. I have a specialist interest managing patients with Crohn’s Disease, Ulcerative Colitis, Diverticular Disease and Bowel Cancer.
In addition to my clinical work I am an honorary lecturer at the Cardiff University Medical School and have a role in the training of medical students in Cardiff. I am a Surgical Advisor to Bowel Screening Wales for Complex Polyp Management & Quality Assurance.
