Mr Marc George
Consultant Orthopaedic Consultant
MB BS, FRCS(Tr & Orth)
I am a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at Spire Hartswood Hospital in Brentwood, Essex offering specialist private hip surgery in our clean and comfortable private hospital.
I was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals in 2008. I have a subspecialist elective practice dealing exclusively in conditions in and around the hip joint with surgical workload being divided between hip preserving procedures such as hip arthroscopy and hip replacement surgery. Whilst I deal with hip problems in patients of all ages from adolescents upwards, a significant proportion of my work is tertiary referral and in young adults. I am currently Orthopaedic Clinical Governance Lead at Guy’s and St Thomas’.
I play an active role in postgraduate education, being an educational and clinical supervisor for higher surgical trainees and am examiner for orthopaedic MSc students. As well as regularly teaching on hip arthroscopy, hip replacement and postgraduate examination courses, I frequently give lecture to general practitioners, physiotherapists and postgraduate orthopaedic trainees.
I have published articles in peer reviewed journals and written book chapters on a variety of hip related topics and I am a reviewer for the Bone and Joint Journal and The Journal of Hip Preservation Surgery.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Marc George at Spire include:

I live locally in Essex with my wife and two teenage sons. Whilst my own playing days are long behind me, I remain a keen rugby fan and spend most weekends supporting my sons who play for a local club.
