Mr Heliotis qualified in Medicine at the University of Stellenbosch and in Dentistry at the University of Witwatersrand, where he conducted research in the Bone Research Laboratory, publishing on tissue regeneration and bioengineering, and received an MSc.
Mr Heliotis practice encompasses many aspects of facial surgery. He is also a skin cancer surgeon. He sees patients for problems relating to facial orthognathic/cosmetic surgery, trauma to skin and bones of the face, dental implants/oral surgery, and general surgery of the mouth, salivary glands, neck and temporomandibular joints.
Mr Heliotis received all his post-graduate surgical training in the United Kingdom. Formal Higher Surgical Training was achieved by rotating through some of the best training hospitals for his speciality – King’s College Hospital, The Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead and The Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford. He is board Certified in Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery in the UK and holds the FRCS (OMFS). He is registered with the GMC (General Medical Council) as a Maxillofacial and Oral Surgeon.
