I am a dedicated Consultant Ophthalmologist and Vitreoretinal Surgeon. My expertise lies in performing complex cataract surgeries, alongside a substantial number of routine cataract operations. In Worcestershire, I am a specialist for referral cataract cases that have experienced complications and require advanced treatment.

I also perform a significant amount of retinal surgery, including repairing macular holes, peeling epiretinal membranes, and fixing retinal detachments. Beyond my vitreo-retinal work, I have a special interest in aviation medicine. From 2007 to 2014, I led the Aviation Ophthalmology department for the three armed Services (Fleet Air Arm, Army Air Corps, and RAF).

My NHS work is based at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. I founded and currently manage the vitreo-retinal (VR) service in Worcestershire and am an integral part of the regional VR service at the Birmingham and Midland Eye Centre (BMEC) at City Hospital in Birmingham.

I frequently speak on ophthalmology and vitreo-retinal surgery, sharing my knowledge with doctors, professional groups, optometrists, GPs, and military medical officers. Additionally, I regularly lecture on aviation ophthalmology at the Royal Air Force's Centre for Aviation Medicine and King's College London, particularly for the internationally renowned Diploma of Aviation Medicine course. I have also taught medical students at the universities of Cambridge, Birmingham, Cape Town, and UCL.

My research interests are diverse and active, including collaborations with Moorfields Hospital in London and the Centre of Aviation Medicine at RAF Boscombe Down. I have contributed numerous publications to medical literature and have presented at both national and international meetings. I am also a reviewer for four international scientific journals in ophthalmology.
