I am a Consultant Ophthalmologist and Vitreoretinal Surgeon providing specialist eye care in Worcester and across Worcestershire. I have extensive experience in complex cataract surgery, alongside a high volume of routine cataract procedures.

Within Worcestershire, I act as a specialist referral surgeon for complicated cataract cases, including those affected by intra‑operative or post‑operative complications that require advanced surgical expertise.

My clinical interests include clear lens refractive surgery, the management of diabetic eye disease and retinal disease, and the use of premium intraocular lenses, including toric anti‑astigmatic and multifocal lenses, to optimise visual outcomes. I also specialise in advanced vitreoretinal surgery, treating complex retinal conditions with modern microsurgical techniques.

I perform a significant volume of retinal surgery, including macular hole repair, epiretinal membrane peeling, and retinal detachment surgery, providing expert care for patients referred from across Worcester and the wider region.

As a Worcester‑based vitreoretinal and cataract surgeon, my practice combines precision surgery with detailed pre‑operative assessment and personalised treatment planning.

Patients benefit from access to advanced surgical techniques locally, reducing the need to travel outside Worcestershire for specialist care.

In addition to my clinical ophthalmology work, I have a long‑standing specialist interest in aviation medicine. Since 2007, I have led the Aviation Ophthalmology Department for the UK Armed Services, providing expert ophthalmic assessment and advice for the Fleet Air Arm, Army Air Corps, and Royal Air Force.

I regularly speak on ophthalmology and vitreoretinal surgery, sharing knowledge with doctors, optometrists, general practitioners, professional groups, and military medical officers.

I am also a regular lecturer in aviation ophthalmology at the Royal Air Force Centre for Aviation Medicine and King’s College London, contributing to the internationally recognised Diploma of Aviation Medicine.

I have taught medical students at the Universities of Cambridge, Birmingham, Cape Town, University College London, and Worcester, and have authored numerous peer‑reviewed publications and medical textbooks.

I regularly present my work at national and international ophthalmology meetings.

As a Consultant Ophthalmologist in Worcester, my focus is on delivering high‑quality, evidence‑based eye care locally, combining advanced surgical expertise with clear communication, reassurance, and a patient‑centred approach.
