I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Spire Washington Hospital, specialising in hip and knee surgery, with a focus on joint replacement to help patients regain mobility and live without pain.
I studied Medicine at the University of Cambridge, where I graduated with First Class Honours and a Distinction in Surgery. I began my postgraduate orthopaedic training at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge before completing it in Newcastle upon Tyne. I then undertook an additional 18 months of advanced surgical training in Melbourne and Perth, Australia, where I developed specialist expertise in hip and knee replacement surgery.
I was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the University Hospital of North Durham in 2005 and continue to combine my NHS role with my private practice.
In my practice, I perform a wide range of procedures including hip replacement surgery, knee replacement surgery, and knee arthroscopy (keyhole surgery). I regularly support patients experiencing joint pain, arthritis, or reduced mobility, offering both surgical and non-surgical treatment options.
