I was appointed as a Consultant Neurosurgeon in 2011. I have a broad practice in neurosurgery and have expertise in both paediatric and adult neurosurgery including a range of spinal disorders.
I completed my advanced neurosurgical training and fellowships in The Walton Centre, Liverpool, Alder Hey Childrens Hospital, Liverpool and Weill Cornell University/New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre, New York City.
Where possible, I will recommend individualised non-operative treatments. If surgery is required, my clinical focus is on patient centred operative strategies utilising the most appropriate and advanced minimally invasive techniques.
Having published over 45 peer reviewed articles in leading neurosurgical and medical journals, I regularly present at national and international meetings and conferences. I continue to be active in collaborative clinical neurosurgical research, with professional links in Europe, Asia and North America.
I also have an interest in volunteer neurosurgical outreach programmes in developing countries. My non-clinical interests include training and teaching.
