In my practice, I specialise in urology with a focus on prostate disease, including prostate cancer diagnosis, PSA screening, active surveillance, and urological oncology. I perform advanced minimally invasive treatments such as robotic prostatectomy, other robotic and laparoscopic “keyhole” procedures, as well as HIFU and cryotherapy. I also manage benign urological conditions including benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), prostate artery embolization (PAE), and kidney stones.
I have worked as a Consultant Urological Surgeon at Southampton University Hospital Foundation trust since 2009. Prior to my appointment in Southampton in 2009 I worked in Winchester and Southend University Hospital.
I completed a Bachelor of Science honours degree in Biochemistry with Pharmacology from the University of Southampton 1990 before studying Medicine at Southampton University Medical School graduating in 1994. My urological training has been in the Wessex region including Southampton, Bournemouth, Salisbury, Portsmouth, and Winchester. In 2007 I spent a fellowship year training in laparoscopic urological surgery, stone surgery and brachytherapy in Perth, Australia. In 2008 I undertook a clinical visit to Cleveland Clinic, Ohio training in advanced laparoscopic techniques and robotics.
