Having trained initially in Liverpool and subsequently in the Yorkshire region I undertook a fellowship in advanced pelvic malignancy in Christchurch, New Zealand. I took up my consultant post in Hull in 2009. My practice encompasses general, abdominal and emergency surgery but is mainly focused on disorders of the colon, rectum and anal canal.

I try to balance the demands of my family with my interest in running and cycling. In the past year I have completed the Frankfurt marathon and ridden the Etape du Tour.
