I am a Consultant Urological Surgeon at the Bristol Urological Institute, Southmead Hospital since 2011.
I have a broad experience in general and diagnostic urology, which includes helping my patients identify reasons for blood in urine, raised prostate blood test (PSA) levels, recurrent urinary infections and urinary flow difficulties.
My specialist expertise is in the minimally invasive treatment of kidney stones (endoscopic & percutaneous) and endoscopic upper tract urothelial cancer management. I am one of the higher volume stone surgeons in the country.
Following my higher surgical training in Merseyside (Wirral, Cheshire and Liverpool); I completed a Sub-Specialist Clinical Fellowship in Endourology at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Birmingham before joining the Consultant faculty at the Bristol Urological Institute
My research interests are in kidney stone disease and improving on differential attainment. My group looks into evaluating risk factors for sepsis, increased hospital stay and morbidity in patients who undergo stone procedures and outcomes of shockwave lithotripsy. Attempts at identifying risk factors for recurrence of stone disease, including with the use of Machine learning continue.
I have published over 75 papers, am a scientific reviewer for 12 scientific journals and the Section Editor for Endourology, Journal of Clinical Urology. I am regularly invited nationally and internationally to teach on stone disease, cancer diagnostics, and training doctors. I have been recognised as an International Professor with the Apollo Hospitals Educational & Research Foundation (AHERF), India and Honorary Professor of Urology at the School of Medicine, Bridgetown International University, Barbados.
In 2021, I was elected to the Trustee board of the British Association of Urological Surgeons (BAUS) and now serve as the President Elect. I am passionate about education, training collaboration and well- being of my peers and younger colleagues.
I am the 2024 recipient of the KAMS (UK) award for Outstanding contribution to the field of Urological Surgery & the 2023 APEX Healthcare Excellency Award for Excellence in Healthcare.

I am married with two children. I like to get the occasional game of tennis or watch cricket with my daughter. I am a vociferous football supporter having spent over 10 years in the Northwest.
