MBBCh, FRCS (Tr & Orth), Dip Hand Surg (BSSH/UoM)
My clinical practice is almost solely hand and wrist surgery. I deal with all aspects of this specialist area from soft tissue to bony and joint pathology. The only area I don't cover is cancer. I do see patients with certain elbow pathology. I graduated from the University of Wales, College of Medicine in 1998. I had my basic training in South Wales and moved to the North East to undertake higher surgical training in trauma and orthopaedics.
During my last year of training, I was appointed to an advanced training post in hand surgery in Manchester (one of nine nationally available ones). During this period I worked closely with plastic and orthopaedic hand surgeons to gain a full exposure in this chosen field of interest. I have also gained the postgraduate diploma in hand surgery in 2010 to signify my special interest in this area of practice. I take part in a specialist hand surgery on-call rota in conjunction with my plastic surgery colleagues.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Jeff Auyeung at Spire include:
Orthopaedics - hand and wrist
Hand and wrist arthritis, Sports injury to the hand and wrist
Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon, University Hospital of North Durham, County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust.
I am happily married with three young children, two dogs and four guinea pigs. I spend my spare time with my family. When not working I enjoy listening to Radio 4, especially comedy programmes, and help my children build their Lego. When time permits I also enjoy practicing Tai Chi.
