I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in hip and knee replacement surgery with particular interest in complex and revision joint replacement.
I also perform minimally invasive (small scar), day case hip and knee replacement surgery and keyhole knee surgery.
I grew up and went to school in Middlesbrough and studied Medicine at the University of Sheffield, where I was awarded the pre-clinical distinction prize and went on to graduate with Honours in 2006.
I completed higher surgical training as a specialist registrar in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery on the Yorkshire Training Programme.
I have also completed two highly sought after sub-speciality training fellowships at the Charnley Hip and Knee Unit in Wrightington and the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford, where I honed my skills in both hip and knee surgery before being appointed as a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon at South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust in 2018.
