I am a specialist Upper GI and weight loss (Bariatric) surgeon with over 12 years' experience in primary and complex upper GI and bariatric surgical procedures.

I am a fully qualified General and Upper GI Surgeon specialising in gallbladder surgery (cholecystectomy), hernia surgery and weight loss (Bariatric) surgery.

I have performed over 1,000 cholecystectomies, 500 weight loss procedures and 600 laparoscopic hernia repairs.

I qualified in 1997 from St Mary’s Hospital, London. Following this, I underwent basic surgical training in London followed by higher surgical training in the Oxford region. I then became a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, 2001 and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2009. I was awarded an MD in Clinical Research 2008 from University College, London for work on Barrett’s oesophagus and progression to oesophageal adenocarcinoma.

I also underwent a post CCT fellowship in Bariatric and Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery in Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton (Level 1 Unit and Centre of Clinical Excellence for Bariatric surgery) in 2010-11. Since then, I have been appointed as a substantive Consultant General/UGI and Bariatric Surgeon at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading in May 2012.
