Virtual consultations:
I am a consultant ENT surgeon at Spire Leeds and have been a consultant since 2010. Within the very broad specialty that is ENT Surgery I have specialised in the management of patients with thyroid nodules, an enlarged thyroid gland (goitre), salivary gland disease, cancer affecting the head and neck, parathyroid disease and other lumps and bumps of various different causes.
I also maintain a broad practice in general ear, nose and throat conditions for both adults and paediatric patients; I have considerable experience in coblation tonsillectomy for children and adults.
My medical degree was awarded by Leeds University and I completed higher specialist training in ENT in the Yorkshire Deanery before completing my sub-specialty training with a Royal College of Surgeons Fellowship at the Freeman Hospital Newcastle.
In my NHS consultant post I see many patients referred from their GP's under the '2 week rule' with symptoms and signs that have raised concerns about possible cancer and I am part of the multi-disciplinary teams (MDTs) for treating head, neck and thyroid cancer patients. I have recently started treating some cancer patients with trans-oral robotic surgery (TORS), and I am the leading TORS surgeon in the Yorkshire region.
