Virtual consultations:
I am a consultant orthopaedic surgeon who specialises in the management of spinal conditions. My practice encompasses all aspects of spinal surgery. My main surgical interest is in the use of minimally invasive spinal surgical techniques for the treatment of sciatica and stenosis. I believe that the use of minimally invasive techniques improves patient outcomes and reduces the length of hospital stay. I offer a full range of surgical treatments for degenerative spinal conditions including lumbar microdiscectomy, spinal decompression, minimally invasive spinal fusions, anterior cervical decompression and fusion/disc replacement, and balloon kyphoplasty for vertebral compression fractures, as well as spinal injections.
I qualified from St. Mary's Hospital Medical School (Imperial College), and later undertook my specialist training at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. I subsequently underwent a one-year UK advanced training fellowship in spinal surgery.
I am on the GMC specialist register for orthopaedic surgery, and am a member of the British Association of Spinal Surgeons and the Spine Society of Europe. I am a consultant orthopaedic spinal surgeon at West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust.
I ensure that I take the time to explain things clearly in easy-to-understand terms, enabling patients to make informed decisions about their treatment. I have published several research papers on trauma, orthopaedic and spinal surgery, and have presented this work at both national and international meetings.
