Virtual consultations:
I am a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising exclusively in knee surgery at Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital. I provide high‑quality private care for patients with knee pain, sports injuries and degenerative knee conditions.
Alongside my private practice I have held an NHS Consultant post at West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds since 2022, which ensures my clinical practice is firmly grounded in current evidence, national guidelines and best practice.
I specialise in the full spectrum of knee surgery and non‑operative knee care including partial (unicondylar) knee replacement, total knee replacement, robotic-assisted knee surgery, ACL reconstruction, patella (knee cap) stabilisation, knee osteoarthritis, sports injuries and ligament problem as well as knee-preservation procedures such as osteotomy and meniscal repair.
I perform over 200 knee replacements each year, with approximately 40% being partial knee replacements, reflecting my expertise in knee‑preserving and minimally invasive surgical techniques.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr James Gill at Spire include:
