I graduated from St Mary’s Hospital medical school in London in 1994. After basic surgical training at St Mary’s, I trained as a registrar in the North West Thames Region. My training was completed with the London Colorectal Fellowship at University College Hospital and St Thomas’s Hospital.

I was appointed Consultant Colorectal and General surgeon in the NHS at Watford General Hospital in 2009. My main colorectal interests are in colorectal cancer surgery and inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's and Ulcerative Colitis). I perform laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery, combined with a recently introduced enhanced recovery pathway to safely accelerate the recovery period to minimise the effects of major surgery on normal bodily function. I am a surgical lead for inflammatory bowel disease and is heavily involved in its delivery.

I have trained in various techniques of haemorrhoid surgery, anal fissure treatments and fistula surgery. I also practice hernia repairs.
