"Staff at Spire have always struck me as being committed, personable, caring and professional. Like with all great centres, it is the people that make the place, and Spire is no exception."
Specialises in
Virtual consultations:
I am a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon at Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital, specialising in robotic-assisted surgery, hip and knee surgery, lower limb trauma and complex orthopaedic reconstruction. I work with patients from Cambridge and across the East of England providing specialist care for both elective joint replacement and complex trauma-related conditions.
My clinical practice focuses on hip replacement surgery, knee replacement surgery and arthroscopic (keyhole) knee surgery, alongside the management of lower limb sports injuries and complex reconstructive cases. I also have extensive experience in pelvic and acetabular trauma surgery, treating patients with serious lower limb injuries using minimally invasive and percutaneous surgical techniques where appropriate.
Alongside my private practice at Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital, I have been an Orthopaedic Consultant Surgeon since 2017 and currently care for trauma and orthopaedic patients at Addenbrooke’s University Hospital, where I am part of the Cambridge Orthopaedic Pelvic Unit (COPU), the Orthopaedic Trauma Unit, and serve as Major Trauma Clinical Lead. My two main passions in clinical practice are complex hip and knee replacement surgery and the treatment of major trauma injuries.
I studied Medicine at the University of Cambridge and University College London, before completing a prestigious fellowship at the Royal London Hospital Major Trauma Centre, where I gained advanced experience in complex trauma, pelvic and acetabular injuries, and revision joint replacement surgery. Following my fellowship, I worked as a consultant at Salford Royal Hospital, where I helped establish the pelvic and acetabular trauma service within the newly formed Major Trauma Centre, before returning to Cambridge.
On return to Cambridge, I have endeavoured to improve the systems of care of patients with orthopaedic and trauma injuries within the NHS service. This indeed is a passion of mine, aiming to improve not only surgical care but also the holistic care of patients who have suffered greatly from accidents and injuries.
