I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in shoulder, elbow and hand surgery holding my private practise at Spire Washington Hospital in the Northeast. My clinical practice covers the full range of upper limb conditions, with a particular focus on joint replacement surgery and complex reconstructive procedures.
I have been a Consultant at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Gateshead since 2012, where I practise as an upper limb surgeon and contribute to trauma management. I completed the majority of my surgical training in the West Midlands, gaining valuable experience at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham, where I treated complex trauma and polytrauma cases, including war related injuries. I further specialised through a dedicated shoulder fellowship in Derby and continue to maintain strong professional links with the unit.
In my practice, I perform a high volume of procedures each year, including shoulder replacement surgery, rotator cuff repair, and shoulder arthroscopy for conditions such as instability, impingement, and joint damage. I also offer a wide range of elbow procedures, including elbow arthroscopy, joint replacement, treatment for tennis and golfer’s elbow, cubital tunnel syndrome, and removal of loose bodies or bursae.
For hand and wrist conditions, I treat carpal tunnel syndrome, Dupuytren’s contracture, ganglion cysts, and thumb arthritis with procedures such as trapeziectomy, De Quervain’s release and fasciectomy.
