I promote rapid investigations and treatment for haematuria (passing blood in the urine), voiding dysfunction and suspected prostate, bladder, kidney or testicular cancer. I have a special interest in the prevention and laser treatment of kidney stones and minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery.
I obtained my medical degree at the University of Pretoria, South Africa. I worked in Namibia and the Western Cape as a junior doctor and did my basic surgical training at Guys and St Thomas’s Hospital, London and completed my Urology training as part of the North Thames rotation.
I trained in general urology, reconstructive urology, pelvic oncology, stone surgery and upper tract laparoscopy. I have been involved in research as a primary investigator on the use of botulinum toxin in idiopathic detrusor overactivity and have published on the use of botulinum toxin in overactive bladder, prostate cancer markers and robotic pelvic and partial nephrectomy surgery. I am an advocate for and educate GP trainees on Urology related men’s health conditions.
