I am a Consultant Endocrine and General Surgeon with over 20 years of experience in the field. I have a special interest in redo-parathyroidectomies, parathyroidectomies with negative scans, paediatric endocrine surgery (thyroidectomies), MEN1 parathyroidectomies, thyroid disease and parathyroid cancer. All of my clinical outcomes are registered in the National Audit Database of the British Association of Endocrine and Thyroid Surgeons.

I have a special interest in adrenal, parathyroid and thyroid surgery, including minimally invasive and complex procedures. This includes adrenalectomy, complex parathyroid surgery, and thyroid surgery for cancer, Graves’ disease, nodules and retrosternal goitre, alongside thyroid head and neck surgery. I also undertake a range of general surgical procedures, including hernia repairs and laparoscopic cholecystectomies.

My overall experience in Endocrine Surgery exceeds 2,500 procedures. Over the last five years, I have performed over 650 thyroidectomies, 500 parathyroidectomies and 125 adrenalectomies in both my NHS and private practice.

I am an Honorary Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Nottingham, and I have a Doctorate Degree (PhD) in Endocrinology from Imperial College London.

I have published a large number of studies in peer-reviewed journals. I have trained in some of the most prestigious units in the world by completing fellowships at MD Anderson Cancer Centre in Houston, Texas, King’s College Hospital, Oxford University Hospitals and University College London Hospitals NHS Trust.

I have a strong interest in medical education, having teaching sessions with medical students and I am a clinical/educational supervisor for medical students and surgical trainees. I have designed and currently run a neck hematoma hands-on simulation course that teaches participants how to manage a patient with a post-operative neck hematoma.
