Specialises in
I am a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon with over 20 years of clinical experience, specialising in minimally invasive (keyhole) surgery. Much of my work focuses on advanced laparoscopic and robotic-assisted procedures, which are designed to improve surgical precision and support a smoother recovery.
I currently serve as Clinical Director of General Surgery at South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust. In 2023, I performed the first robotic surgery at Warwick Hospital, reflecting my commitment to developing new techniques that can benefit patients through reduced pain and faster recovery.
In my private practice at Spire Parkway, I provide assessment, diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of abdominal and bowel conditions. I have a particular interest in hernia repair, including inguinal, umbilical and complex incisional hernias, as well as the management of colorectal cancer and inflammatory bowel diseases such as Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
I also offer a comprehensive proctology service, treating conditions such as haemorrhoids (piles), anal fissures and fistulas. Alongside this, I provide endoscopy procedures, including colonoscopy and sigmoidoscopy. These are procedures used to examine the inside of the bowel, helping to diagnose and monitor conditions accurately while ensuring patient comfort throughout.
I graduated with Honours from Cardiff University and completed my higher surgical training in the West Midlands. I was awarded a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the University of Birmingham for my research into colorectal cancer vaccine treatments. To further develop my specialist skills, I undertook an international fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, focusing on complex inflammatory bowel surgery.
I am a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and a former President of The Dukes’ Club, the national association for colorectal surgeons.
I understand that seeing a surgeon can feel daunting, so I always aim to provide clear explanations and a supportive, reassuring environment. I take the time to discuss your condition and treatment options in a way that is easy to understand, helping you feel informed and confident in your care.
Whether you are seeking a consultation, a second opinion or specialist treatment, I provide personalised, evidence-based care tailored to your individual needs across Solihull, Birmingham and Warwickshire.
