I am a Consultant Colorectal Surgeon at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Trust, and have been in post since 2003.
My specialist interests in proctology include for haemorrhoidal disease, as well as the usual excisional techniques, I am able to offer the HALO procedure. Additionally I am in the process of setting up a Specialist service for management of anorectal fistula and pilonidal disease using the techniques of Video-assisted anal fistula treatment (VAAFT) and Endoscopic Pilonidal Sinus Treatment (EPSIT).
My formative training was in the North West, and obtained my CCST in the Mersey Deanery. I provide a predominantly General Colorectal Practice with my main area of interest being Proctology.

I very much value time spent with my family and typically we all have the traveling bug and enjoy going to different countries and enjoy seeing the world from a different perspective and culture
Our most fascinating trip was to Japan, which I would thoroughly recommend for the Cherry Blossom, hospitality and culture
I am known for my love and appreciation for all genres of music from opera to rock and going to see the music love is a highlight
During certain procedure e.g endoscopy I try to help with patient relaxation by putting on music of their choice!
