Mr Harish Chandran

I am a Consultant Paediatric Surgeon and Urologist at Birmingham Children's Hospital for over 24 years and more recently at Spire Parkway Hospital. I am considered an expert in genito-urinary tract reconstructive surgery, with experience stretching for over 30 years.

I also specialise in surgery for orchidopexy, jabouley, scrotal fixation of testes, pyeloplasty, tight foreskin/phimosis, hydroceles, hypospadius repair, genital reconstruction, laparoscopic nephrectomy, hemi nephrectomy, and laparoscopic pyeloplasty.

I was instrumental in setting up and developing the laparoscopic surgery service at the Children's Hospital to benefit the children of the West Midlands. I am the Clinical Lead for laparoscopic surgery at Birmingham Children's Hospital and I am a recognised expert in the field of laparoscopic paediatric surgery and urology in the UK and overseas.

I am involved in teaching and training future surgeons and also mentors several other consultant surgeons in Cardiff, London and in Switzerland. I trained in general surgery and paediatric surgery in New Zealand and Australia, obtaining the prestigious FRACS in both specialities.
