I am a Consultant Urologist and a Kidney Stone Specialist with over 20 years of Consultant experience in providing modern treatments for my patients. I have a specialist interest in kidney stones, which allows me to provide the most modern, advanced investigations and treatments. My private practice is based at Spire Little Aston Hospital.

I have set up a one-stop prostate and PSA clinic, which provides rapid investigation and diagnosis of all prostate problems. A fast track haematuria clinic (blood in the urine) which helps to identify any serious cancer in the kidneys, bladder or prostate. The quality and provision of a medical service depends upon on good teamwork, I have an excellent and experienced team consisting of interventional radiologists, anaesthetists, specialist nursing staff and support teams.

My NHS base was at Good Hope Hospital, part of University Hospital Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust but since retiring my private practice is solely based at Little Aston Hospital. I am one of the most experienced kidney stone surgeons in the Midlands and was the Clinical Lead Surgeon for kidney stones at Good Hope Hospital.

I graduated as a doctor in 1984 and have worked in the NHS for over 35 years before retiring in 2020. I started my Urology career in 1991 and completed training at the John Radcliffe and Churchill Hospital, Oxford in 2000. I passed my Fellowship (FRCS) in Surgery from The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) in 1990 and went on to complete a one-year Diploma in Urology at the Institute of Urology, University College London in 1993. I passed my MSc in Urology at the Institute of Urology, University College London 1996—1998. I cleared my FRCS Urology specialist exam in 1999. I passed FEBU, Fellowship European Board Urology, in 2001 from Vienna.

I am a regional and national Urology Trainer, accredited by the General Medical Council. I am a Clinical and Educational Supervisor. I have trained Senior Registrars in Urology for over 15 years, who are now eminent Consultant Urological Surgeons across the UK, America and Australia.

A GP referral is desirable but not essential should you prefer to book a consultation directly.
