My clinical interests are all aspects of upper gastrointestinal surgery including laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery and endoscopy.I trained at the University of Wales College of Medicine and qualified in 1999. After my basic surgical training I enjoyed a period of research looking into factors that affect outcomes in the management of stomach cancer and was awarded an MD higher degree for this work from Cardiff University. I then gained a higher surgical training number in Wales and took up a consultant post at the University Hospital of Wales in August 2009.
