I am a consultant general and vascular surgeon at West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust. I also provide services as a visiting consultant at the Harefield Hospital. I have been working as a consultant surgeon for over nine years.
I have vast experience in vascular and general surgery with excellent outcomes. I routinely perform keyhole and open procedures for various arterial aneurysms, bypasses and balloon angioplasties for blocked arteries, open ligation/stripping and endovenous (Laser/Radiofrequency) ablation of varicose veins, endarterectomy for carotid and femoral artery disease, insertion of catheters for chemotherapy. I have a special interest in management of diabetic foot conditions.
I also perform laparoscopic (keyhole) and open repair various hernias, cholecystectomies (removal of gallbladder), repair of hydroceles, circumcision, vasectomy and removal of lumps and skin lesions. In addition, I undertake general paediatric procedures like repair of inguinal/umbilical/epigastric hernias, circumcision, orchidopexy/orchidectomy (operation for undescended testis) and repair of hydrocele.
After initial specialty training in India, I undertook further training in the UK in general and vascular surgery, mainly at The Royal Free Hospital, Hampstead, London and was awarded FRCS by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2012.
I have been actively involved in establishment and running of multidisciplinary diabetic foot services at West Herts.
I am actively involved in teaching medical students from University college London and St. Georges medical school, Grenada and am the undergraduate surgical lead for the hospital. I am honorary associate professor of surgery at the St. Georges Medical School.
I am an educational and clinical supervisor for medical students and surgical trainees at various levels from foundation to specialty trainees. I also teach clinical skills and assess vascular trainees of London and KSS deaneries at Imperial college London skills laboratory and training centre. I am an instructor for ATLS course.
