I am a highly trained General and Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgeon. I have been a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon at the Heatherwood and Wexham Park Hospital NHS Trust since 2010.

My areas of expertise are general surgery and laparoscopic (keyhole) colorectal surgery. In the private sector I perform the same range of surgeries as on the NHS. I provide the latest and high-quality of care to my patients.

My special clinical interests include laparoscopic and minimally invasive colorectal and general surgery, including laparoscopic cancer resections, inflammatory bowel disease surgery, ileoanal pouch procedures, pelvic floor and proctological surgery, and the management of gallstone disease and abdominal or groin hernias. I also specialise in day surgery and advanced colorectal procedures for conditions such as haemorrhoids, fissures, fistulae, rectal prolapse, rectocele, faecal incontinence, diverticular disease, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, and colorectal cancers.

My general surgical practice includes laparoscopic and open hernia repair (inguinal, femoral, para-umbilical and incisional), gallbladder surgery, and the management of abdominal emergencies including appendicitis, diverticulitis, cholecystitis, pancreatitis, bowel obstruction, gastrointestinal bleeding, and strangulated hernias. I also perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, and flexible sigmoidoscopy.

My higher surgical training has been predominantly in the Mersey Region and the South West Region. Following completion of my surgical training, I spent 12 months doing an Advanced Colorectal Fellowship at the UCLH (London) and Guys and St Thomas' Hospital in London.

I was awarded MPhil for two years of molecular biology research in early cytogenetic changes and effects of bile acids in Barrett's oesophagus.

I enjoy spending time with my family. My wife is a Nurse Specialist in pain management and neuromodulation and my son is in secondary school. I love travelling and playing sports (cricket and hockey), cycling, running and listening to music. I am a keen artist and enjoy oil painting, sketching and working on computer graphics.
