Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Edward Rowe at Spire include:

I am a consultant urological surgeon and was appointed to Bristol in 2007. During my time I have developed the uro-oncology service and in particular the robotic surgery for prostate and bladder cancer. I am the urology cancer lead, chairman of the network policy group, and I also sit on the British Association of Urological Surgeons section of oncology committee.
Having completed an intercalated BSc in Anatomy in 1993, I qualified from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical in July 1995. My house officer year was spent at Charing Cross and the West Middlesex Hospitals, before completing 6 months in accident and emergency at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and then 6 months teaching anatomy as a ‘demonstrator’ to medical students.
I began basic surgical training with 6 month posts in paediatric surgery and orthopaedics at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, followed by a year in Southend Hospital in General and Vascular surgery. During this time I passed the Royal College of Surgeons membership exam.
I then began speciality training with a 6 month post in Urology at St Mary’s Hospital, and subsequently began a 2 year period of research into prostate cancer screening as part of an M.D which was awarded in 2005.
In 2002 I started Specialist Registrar training in urology on the North West Thames region. Having completed 3 years of core urology training at Watford, Wexham Park, and Hillingdon Hospitals, I gained a further 3 years of sub-speciality training in uro-oncology at Charing Cross, St Mary’s and the Royal Marsden Hospitals.
The majority of the operations I perform are for uro-oncological disease. These include Radical Prostatectomy (removal of the prostate for prostate cancer), Radical Cystectomy (removal of the bladder for cancer), and penile cancer operations including groin node clearance procedures.

I also perform Robotic Radical Prostatectomies using the da Vinci system. I completed 2 years training in robotic surgery at St Mary’s and the Royal Marsden Hospitals. Early analysis of the data suggests that by using the da Vinci system, the surgical outcome in terms of both cancer clearance, and functional results (potency and a faster return to urinary continence) can be enhanced. The 100th robotic radical prostatectomy in Bristol was performed in early 2010. By 2019, I will have performed in excess of one thousand Radical Robotic Prostatectomies and over three hundred Cystectomies and, therefore, I am one of the highest volume pelvic cancer surgeons in the UK.
Prostate Cancer, Bladder Cancer, Renal Cancer, Penile Cancer, Robotic Surgery, Urinary Symptoms and Inguino-Scrotal Conditions.
