Mr Whitelaw has been working as a Consultant General and Weight Loss Surgeon at the Luton and Dunstable Hospital since 2004 and is currently Bariatric Lead. He is a highly experienced Laparoscopic and Weight Loss Surgeon. His private practice reflects his NHS Practice and includes all laparoscopic surgery (Keyhole surgery) to the gallbladder, for gallstones and gallbladder disease. ERCP for gallstones and jaundice, bile duct exploration, insertion of bile duct stents for jaundice, gallbladder and pancreatobiliary disease.
He performs weight loss surgery including the insertion of gastric band and balloon, sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass and revision surgery.
He also performs all types of abdominal hernia repair at Spire Bushey and Spire Harpenden Hospitals including inguinal, umbilical, incisional and ventral. Most are performed through the keyhole method and this includes both TEP and TAPP procedures.

I grew up in Scotland but moved to London in 1992, after qualifying from Edinburgh University in 1990.
