Mr David Rose

I am a Consultant Cardiac Surgeon with a special interest in minimally invasive valve surgery, coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) and aortic surgery.  I have a passion for transforming lives through advanced cardiovascular procedures. With years of experience in minimally invasive aortic surgery, mitral surgery, and total arterial revascularisation, I have honed my skills to offer cutting-edge, patient-centred care.

I graduated cum laude in Medicine in 2008 at the University of Roma La Sapienza with an experimental thesis in stem cell and tissue engineering for heart diseases.

I started my training in cardiac surgery following a competitive admission in 2009 at the University of Rome Sapienza. During my training I was always interested in minimally invasive valve surgery and before completing my training in 2014, I spent 1 year abroad to complete a fellowship in minimally invasive cardiac surgery.

In September 2015 I started a three year doctoral course PhD Angio-cardiothoracic pathophysiology and Imaging at the University Sapienza of Rome, which I completed in January 2019.

I am the Clinical Lead and Head of Department of Cardiac Surgery at Blackpool Victoria Hospital.

In addition to my clinical work, I am also proud to be an honorary lecturer at Lancaster University. I am the lead for digital cardiac surgical waiting lists that uses remote monitoring technology to ensure that patients on cardiac waiting lists have a direct link to a team of clinicians.
