As Lead Urogynaecologist, I specialise in the assessment and treatment of pelvic floor disorders as well as a wide range of general gynaecological conditions.Â
My subspecialist expertise lies in urogynaecology and minimally invasive (laparoscopic) gynaecological surgery. I have extensive experience in the management of pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence, as well as conditions such as pelvic pain, menstrual disorders, endometriosis, fibroids, abnormal uterine bleeding, subfertility, menopause‑related concerns and post‑partum problems. I also offer colposcopy for cervical screening abnormalities and pelvic ultrasound as part of a comprehensive diagnostic approach.
Alongside my benign gynaecology work, I am a member of the South Manchester Oncology Multidisciplinary Team and perform surgery for gynaecological cancers. I am also the Trust Lead Clinician for Colposcopy at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where I maintain high standards of care and clinical governance within cervical screening services.
I joined Mid Cheshire Hospitals as a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in 2018 and currently lead the Urogynaecology service. I graduated from the University of Liverpool Medical School in 2006 and completed my specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology across the Mersey and North West of England rotations, achieving my Certificate of Completion of Training in 2017. I was awarded Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2015.
I have completed advanced subspecialty training in urogynaecology as a pelvic floor surgeon and am an accredited colposcopist with the British Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology. I have also undertaken advanced training in gynaecological ultrasound to complement my clinical practice.
In addition to my clinical work, I hold an Advisory Appointment Committee Assessor role for the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. I am also an Educational Lead at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at the University of Liverpool, actively involved in undergraduate education and postgraduate training, including supporting candidates preparing for the MRCOG examinations. I have completed the Advanced Certificate in Clinical Education, reflecting my ongoing commitment to teaching and service development.
