I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a special interest in primary hip and knee replacements, partial knee replacements, knee preservation surgery, knee arthroscopy, revision hip surgery, metastatic bone disease, robotic joint replacement, and general trauma.

My passion for medicine began during my early years in London, where I was educated at the Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School in Holland Park. I pursued my pre-clinical studies at Oxford University and my clinical studies at the University of London, graduating with the Esther Frances White Memorial Prize and Distinction in Surgery in 2002.

Following this, I completed my Basic Surgical Training on the Cambridge Training Programme at Addenbrooke’s Hospital. After that, I embarked on my Higher Surgical Training on the Percival Pott (Bart’s Hospital) Training Programme, spending time at St Bart’s and The Royal London Hospitals, The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital Stanmore and The Norfolk and Norwich Hospital.

To further hone my skills, I underwent a year-long fellowship at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford, where I specialised in complex revision hip arthroplasty and bone tumour surgery under the guidance of Mr Duncan Whitwell. I have also held consultant positions at the internationally renowned Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital Stanmore before assuming my substantive post in Worcester.

I am now able to offer Mako robotic-arm assisted knee and hip replacement for appropriate patients at Spire South Bank Hospital. The use of a personalised surgical plan from a CT scan provides greater accuracy in placement and alignment of a joint replacement. Further details can be found using the above link.

I am married to Ms Joanna Thomas, a Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Birmingham Children’s Hospital. We have been blessed with four young children, who keep us on our toes.

Since relocating to Worcestershire, I have embraced a rural lifestyle, and I am now a proud livestock owner, tending to Jacob sheep, Gloucester old-spot pigs, Bresse hens, turkeys, and geese. When I am not working or spending time with my family, you can find me tending to my animals, indulging in my love for cooking, or exploring the beautiful countryside.
