I am a Consultant ENT Surgeon at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Trust. I specialise in otology (surgery of the ear) for hearing loss or chronic infections, anterior and lateral skull base (complex surgery that from the nose or the ear can access to pathologies that are close to the brain) and I have experience in all the basic ENT operations like tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, grommets, sinus surgery. I have a keen interest in patients with dizziness, balances disorders and those affected by tinnitus.

In the last five years, I have performed according to my logbook, well above 1,000 operations.

I have a special interest for skull base pathologies, dizziness/balance disorders, tinnitus, middle ear diseases, facial nerve, hearing loss, neurofibromatosis type 2, management of paragangliomas and schwannomas of the head and neck.

I achieved my training in Italy and was awarded four fellowships before becoming a consultant, working in famous UK centres like Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, Queen Elisabeth Hospital in Birmingham, Guy’s and St Thomas’, the National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery, King’s Hospital in London. I perform complex skull base, ear and sinus surgery, hearing implantation surgeries.

I am the Educational Chair of the Confederation of European Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery. As part of the Committee of the European Society of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, I am regularly involved in national and international courses and congresses.

In addition to my clinical work, I teach anatomy to the medical students in Cambridge. I am constantly involved in research, and I lead projects in the field of otology, dizziness, hearing implants, and tumours.

I am continuously striving to develop new treatments, to improve the health of my patients.
