I undertook my higher surgical training in the South West before being appointed as a Consultant General Surgeon with a special interest in upper GI surgery at the BRI in August 2010.

My clinical interests include endoscopy, gastroenterology, gastrointestinal cancer, gastrointestinal surgery, hernia repair surgery, laparoscopic surgery and minimal access surgery.

I was awarded an AUGIS (Association of Upper GI Surgeons) travel fellowship in 2009, working at the Cancer Institute Hospital, Tokyo, Japan, training in advanced minimally invasive upper GI surgery, as well as undertaking minimally invasive surgery training courses in Versailles and Gothenburg.
