I am a Consultant Colorectal and General Surgeon practising at Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital and Addenbrooke’s Hospital. I provide advanced surgical care for patients across Cambridgeshire. My mission is to deliver safe, high-quality, holistic, patient-centered care with exceptional perioperative and oncological outcomes.

I specialise in robotic-assisted surgery using the da Vinci system, offering minimally invasive solutions for complex colorectal and general surgical conditions. At Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital, I perform advanced robotic procedures for colorectal cancer, hernia repair and abdominal surgery, ensuring faster recovery, reduced pain, and superior precision compared to traditional techniques. I am also an accredited endoscopist by the UK Joint Advisory Group (JAG) and perform diagnostic and interventional colonoscopies.

I am proficient in advanced minimally invasive surgery, including robotic and laparoscopic surgery. Following a pan-European competitive selection process, I was awarded the prestigious European Society of Coloproctology (ESCP) Robotic Surgery Fellowship, through which I gained further advanced specialised experience in robotic surgery.

I was the first surgeon to perform robotic surgery for general surgery and colorectal surgery at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and I was instrumental in safely and effectively introducing robotic surgery at Addenbrooke’s hospital, with excellent surgical outcomes.

I trained at Imperial College London, achieving both my medical degree and a first-class honours degree in Surgery and Anaesthesia. I completed specialist training in London teaching hospitals and was awarded a Doctorate in Medicine for my research.

I was successfully appointed as a Consultant Colorectal and General Surgeon at Addenbrooke's Hospital. I was privileged to become the Specialty Lead for Colorectal Surgery, leading one of the most established colorectal departments in the UK.

I have a strong interest and knowledge of evidence-based medical practice demonstrated by a Postgraduate Certificate in Evidence-Based Healthcare from University College London. I have featured in national and international medical documentaries and interviews, including the BBC series: Surgeons: At The Edge Of Life.

I have published extensively in the scientific literature with over 100 peer-reviewed international journal publications and book chapters. I was invited to give numerous national and international presentations at scientific conferences, and act as a reviewer for several high-impact peer-reviewed journals. I have been awarded multiple research grant awards, and I have been the principal investigator for numerous research projects.

At present, on the basis of my sizeable contributions to research, I have been granted the esteemed title of Affiliated Assistant Professor, at the Department of Surgery, University of Cambridge.
