I have been a consultant vascular and major trauma surgeon in Nottingham since 2016. I am an expert in both endovascular (minimally invasive) and open surgical treatments for varicose veins and arterial disease. I also have expertise in open hernia repair.

Prior to my appointment as a consultant I completed surgical training in the UK around both the South coast (Wessex) and East Midlands regions, as well as a year long training fellowship in Sacramento, California.

During my training and early years as a consultant I was employed by the Royal Air Force and have deployed as a general and trauma surgeon on multiple occasions. I retired from the RAF in 2022 to take up my current full time position within the NHS.

I specialise in vascular and major trauma surgery with specific interests in varicose veins and venous disease; peripheral vascular disease and claudication; and complex aortic surgery.

During my career to date I have performed more than 500 varicose veins cases, both endovascular and open; more than 100 aortic aneurysm repairs and arterial bypass operations and several hundred open hernia repairs.

I have recently been appointed as the Royal College of Surgeons of England surgical tutor in Nottingham, providing training support to resident doctors.

I also undertake medico-legal work comprising report writing for both personal injury and medical negligence claims.
