"The Spire Abergele consulting rooms and Yale Hospital allow high quality outpatient and surgical care in a friendly environment within a great team."
I have been a consultant oral and maxillofacial surgeon for 16 years specialising in the treatment of both benign and malignant conditions of the mouth, jaw and face including the skin of the head and neck region. I care for patients from North and mid Wales, Shropshire and Cheshire.
Through the management of head and neck cancers I have developed a particular interest in reconstructive surgery including the use of microvascular surgery, allowing me to provide a service for colleagues in other surgical specialities. My practice also involves caring for patients with surgical problems of tooth development, the jaws and jaw joints. I have a regular commitment to assessing and treating patients with mouth and facial trauma including injuries to the jaws and facial skin.
The numbers of mouth and jaw surgeries I have completed, including removal of impacted teeth, run into the many thousands and I have carried out more than a thousand head and neck skin cancer procedures including the use of skin grafts and other reconstructive procedures. I maintain a record of major salivary gland procedures which number over 500 and microvascular reconstructions of also just over 500.
I am currently clinical lead for North Wales Oral And Maxillofacial Surgery I was Clinical Director for Surgery in Glan Clwyd Hospital 2010 - 2015.
I play an active role in medical and surgical training and education; Foundation Programme Director, Glan Clwyd Hospital 2015 to date. Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Core Training Programme Director 2005 to date.
