I am a Consultant Cleft, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. I treat a wide range of Oral & Maxillofacial surgical conditions. I am a Specialist Paediatric Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon who also treats adult patients within my NHS practice. I am also one of approximately 30 Consultant Cleft lip and palate surgeons in the UK.

In my role as a Specialist Paediatric Maxillofacial Surgeon, I regularly treat tongue ties, remove soft tissue lesions (mouth and face), undertake surgery required as part of orthodontic treatment (surgical extractions and exposures of teeth). In my adult practice I undertake procedures such as oral surgery, skin surgery, orthognathic (jaw moving) surgery (including genioplasty/chinplasty) and bone grafting.

I work at Alder Hey Children's Hospital and Aintree University Hospital in Liverpool. I provide care for both paediatric and adult patients in my NHS practice. I graduated in Dentistry from Manchester in 2001 and Medicine in 2008. I have completed a broad spectrum of basic and higher surgical training. In addition to higher surgical training in Oral & Maxillofacial surgery, I have undertaken an advanced fellowship in Cleft Lip and Palate surgery.

I was appointed as an NHS Consultant in Cleft, Oral & Maxillofacial surgery in 2016.  In my NHS practice I complete up to 1,000 consultations per year. I am one of four Cleft surgeons in the North West of England. I was previously Clinical Director for the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Department at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. I am currently the Clinical Director for the North West, North Wales and Isle of Man Cleft Network.

I work as part of the Merseyside Regional Maxillofacial Service which is based at Aintree University Hospital in Liverpool and is the Major Trauma Centre for the Merseyside and Cheshire area. I am routinely involved in the management of adult and paediatric facial trauma.

I am involved with teaching Maxillofacial and Plastic Surgeons in training. I am currently co-lead for the Cleft & Craniofacial module, University of Liverpool MSc in Oral & Maxillofacial surgery.

I moved to Manchester in 1996 to start University and am still here all these years later! I am married and have two daughters who keep me very busy. I love travelling and going on adventures with my family. In any spare time that I have I enjoy exercising.
