I am a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial and Head & Neck Reconstructive Surgeon with over 15 years of Consultant experience. I specialise in head and neck cancer surgery, facial skin cancer, facial reconstruction, salivary gland surgery, oral and jaw lesions, wisdom tooth surgery, dental implants and bone grafting. Having performed more than 2,500 facial surgical procedures, I am committed to delivering expert, evidence-based care tailored to each patient's individual needs.
Alongside my clinical practice, I have held several senior leadership, educational and professional roles. I was previously the Head and Neck Oncology Lead, where I led service development and introduced innovations including advanced reconstructive techniques, enhanced flap monitoring and 3D surgical planning. I have been an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh for over a decade and I am on the MFDS Advisory Board. I was previously the Royal College Regional Specialty Board Advisor. In addition, I have been an Educational Supervisor for higher surgical trainees for over 15 years, an ARCP panel member and an STC representative, reflecting my longstanding commitment to surgical education, training and maintaining the highest professional standards.
I combine my surgical expertise with a compassionate and patient-centred approach, ensuring that patients feel informed, supported and confident throughout their treatment. I am actively involved in teaching, research and postgraduate medical education, with numerous peer-reviewed publications and national and international presentations. I also serves as an examiner and trainer, contributing to the education of future surgeons. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling and experiencing different cultures. I believe that listening to patients, communicating clearly and treating every individual with kindness and respect are just as important as achieving excellent surgical outcomes. My aim is to provide good care in a welcoming, professional environment where patients feel reassured at every stage of their journey.
