I am a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon in Norfolk, East of England and see patients in my private practice at Spire Norwich Hospital and Spire King’s Lynn Clinic where I specialise in all areas of foot and ankle surgery. In addition to foot and ankle surgery I also perform general adult and paediatric trauma surgery.
Alongside this, I carry our regular assessment, advice and treatment of flatfoot, bunions, foot arthritis, ligament injuries and reconstruction, Morton's neuroma, ingrown toenails, lesser toe correction, pes cavus (high-arched foot), Achilles tendon disorders, sports injury and tendon problems. I also undertake ankle arthroscopic procedures.
I have been an Orthopaedic Surgeon for over 16 years, performing several thousand foot and ankle procedures during this time. I have also carried out several specialist procedures for complex foot and ankle trauma.
I qualified as a doctor from St Thomas’ Hospital, London in 1996. I have always had a keen interest in surgery and undertook my basic surgical rotation at the King's Hospital training programme in London, followed by the prestigious Oxford Deanery Higher Specialist Surgical Training Programme in Trauma and Orthopaedics. I continued my interest in lower limb, foot and ankle surgery in Oxford, in particular during fellowship programmes in foot and ankle surgery at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge and The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore, followed by a visiting fellowship in Europe, as part of an awarded British Foot Society Fellowship.
I have published over 60 research items on various aspects of foot and ankle surgery. I have contributed to the British Foot and Ankle Society journal, The Foot. I have also contributed to several other foot and ankle journals both as an author and reviewer of the articles. I have contributed to several chapters in the Oxford Textbook of Orthopaedics as a co-editor as well as online textbooks.
In addition to my clinical work I am also a clinical tutor at Cambridge University where I support undergraduate students and teach aspects of foot anatomy.
I am a paid lecturer for Arthrex and am annually invited to lecture on their foot and ankle circuit forums.
