My training began at the Universities of Cambridge and London. I was subsequently trained in the North West Region before returning to my birthplace in the North East and was awarded a higher MD degree in Prostate Research at Newcastle University. My NHs Practice is at South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS FT in addition to Spire Washington Hospital. There I am a surgical trainer and train Speciality Trainees (Registrars) as well as more Junior Resident Doctors and regularly lecture at the Newcastle Surgical Training Centre. I was the Urology Clinical Director from 2015-2020 and continue to play an active role in management projects.

I investigate and treat men and women attending with a range of urological problems. The benign conditions I deal with include voiding issues, urinary infections, urge incontinence and urinary tract stones. I also manage cancers of the bladder, prostate, kidney and testis.

Men attending with outflow obstruction are offered comprehensive investigations, treatments with medication and a range of surgical options including Transurethral prostatectomy (TURP) and prostatic urethral lift (Urolift) procedures at Spire.

I see men with scrotal conditions such as skin lumps, hydrocoele, phimosis (tight foreskin) and epididymal cysts. I also perform vasectomies.

Women presenting with urinary tract infections or urge incontinence can expect a full range of investigations and treatment options.
