I treat all aspects of foot and ankle problems in adults and children, this includes; sport injuries, arthritis, bunions, flat feet, hammer toes and tendinopathies. I have a particular interest in the treatment of Heel pain (plantar fasciitis and achilles problems) and uses minimally invasive surgical techniques when possible.
I was appointed Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon to West Hertfordshire NHS in 2012. I specialise in Foot and Ankle surgery in both adults and children. Alongside this I am part of the Orthopaedic trauma on-call team looking after patients with injuries related to all aspects of general trauma, not limited to the foot and ankle.
I trained at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital and the Royal London Hospital before completing Advanced Fellowship Training in Foot and Ankle Surgery. I also trained in minimally invasive surgery and use these techniques whenever appropriate. I work alongside Orthotics and Physiotherapists to offer a multidisciplinary approach to the conservative treatment of foot and ankle conditions.
In addition to my surgical responsibilities, I am a college tutor for surgery at West Herts NHS Trust. This is a joint appointment by the Trust and Royal College of Surgeons responsible for ensuring standards for higher training are met. I sit on the Divisional Governance committee responsible for ensuring safe surgical practice and is also the designated Paediatric Liaison Surgeon within the Orthopaedic Department.
I regularly deliver lectures in Orthopaedics on course locally and nationally, including the orthopaedic master courses run at both the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital and the University of Dundee.
I am also a reviewer for 'The Foot'; the medical journal endorsed by the British Foot and Ankle Society.

In my spare time I relax with my family and, as a previous music scholar and a classically trained musician, I am an avid builder and collector of guitars. I continue to support Rugby and Cricket but my playing days are over.
