My special interests include: genital reconstructive surgery, such as Hypospadias, Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia, and Neurogenic bladder secondary to Spina bifida, Sacral agenesis or post Ano-Rectal malformation correction including Cloaca repair. I am involved in regular prenatal counselling for Urological anomalies at Leicester Royal Infirmary and treat other urological conditions such as - Hydronephrosis, Vesico-ureteric reflux, UTI, urinary incontinence, Nocturnal Eneuresis, Bladder and kidney stones in children. Other urological conditions I treat include, circumcision, hernia, hydrocele, undescended testes and Varicose vein in the scrotum. I also perform Laparoscopic surgery for Hydronephrosis, Varicocele and impalpable undescended testes.
I have performed more than 1,000 Hypospadias surgical operations, many Hydronephrosis correction cases (open and laparoscopically) and many genital reconstructive surgery for girls born with Congenital adrenal Hyperplasia.
I trained in India, Australia (Pediatric Urology), the USA (Pediatric Urology Fellowship) and different centres in the UK. I was a locum consultant at Southampton Children's Hospital before taking up a consultant's position at Leicester Royal infirmary.
I am Training Programme Director for Paediatric Surgery in the East Midlands and Head of Paediatric Surgery, Leicester Royal Infirmary.
I have been published in peer review journals and have written seven book chapters for Paediatric Urology text books and have presented papers at National and International meetings.
I teach medical students of Leicester University and teach Registrars in the Midlands and Yorkshire.
